Liberty Township’s ATC names Ryan Kelsey director of client growth
After 15 years on the provider side at Cincinnati Bell, CBTS and CenterGrid, Kelsey will lead the IT consulting firm’s client-facing team, strengthen existing client relationships and work to introduce more businesses to provider-neutral technology advice across the region.
Advanced Technology Consulting (ATC), a Liberty Township-based independent technology consulting firm, has named Ryan Kelsey director of client growth. The company announced the hire Oct. 13.
Kelsey has 15 years of technology industry experience in sales, business development and technology solutions. In the new role, he will lead ATC’s client growth efforts, working with the team to strengthen existing relationships, expand the firm’s reach and introduce more organizations to independent, provider-neutral technology consulting.
From the provider side to the client side
Kelsey started his career at Cincinnati Bell and CBTS, where he learned how large telecommunications providers and technology integrators handle solution development, pricing and delivery. He later joined CenterGrid, a private cloud and managed services provider. His work there spanned sales, business development and marketing, and he helped enterprise organizations work through cloud infrastructure and emerging AI workloads.
Those roles gave him a firsthand view of what organizations face when they evaluate technology providers, negotiate contracts and make major IT investments. At ATC, he moves to the other side of the table, working on behalf of clients rather than representing a single provider.
“After spending my career on the provider side, I’m excited to use that experience to advocate for clients,” Kelsey said. “I know what a good provider looks like, what questions IT teams should be asking, and where challenges can arise. At ATC, I have the opportunity to put that knowledge to work helping organizations make the right decisions for their business.”
A 12-year working relationship
Nick Enger, ATC’s president and chief technology officer, noted that Kelsey has worked alongside the firm for more than 12 years across different roles and companies. That history meant Kelsey already knew the team and its independent approach to technology consulting before he joined.
“We know how he operates, how he treats people, and how he shows up for clients. He has ATC’s culture in his DNA,” Enger said.
Kelsey pointed to that culture as the reason he made the move. “What stood out to me was the culture,” Kelsey said. “This is a team that genuinely cares about the people involved, the outcomes, and the process it takes to get there. Everyone holds themselves to a high standard, and that translates directly into the experience clients receive.”
Leading the client growth team
As director of client growth, Kelsey will provide leadership and strategic direction to ATC’s client-facing team, including its principal consultants. The team’s focus will be deepening client partnerships, identifying opportunities for innovation and giving organizations access to the expertise, resources and provider ecosystem they need to make technology decisions.
“As Director of Client Growth, Ryan will help clients navigate the overwhelming technology landscape and help them make confident decisions that support their growth,” Enger said. “He knows the provider side inside and out, and we’re excited to put that experience to work for our clients.”
Kelsey described awareness as the first hurdle. “A lot of business leaders still don’t realize that an independent technology advisor is an option,” Kelsey said. “My goal is to introduce more organizations to that approach, strengthen the relationships we’ve already built, and make sure ATC is the first call when a business has an important technology decision to make.”
