Ohio VC Fest returns to Cleveland this week
JumpStart’s Ohio VC Fest is back in Cleveland this week, September 16–17. The two-day event brings together hundreds of founders, investors, and leaders for dealmaking, conversations, and collaboration.
Why it matters
VC Fest, in its third year, has become one of the Midwest’s signature gatherings for venture capital and startups. This year’s event arrives at a pivotal moment, as Ohio’s innovation economy continues to gain national attention.
Driving the event is Lorne Novick, Interim CEO of JumpStart. Since stepping into the role earlier this year, Novick has sharpened the organization’s focus on scaling high-potential companies and strengthening the state’s startup pipeline.
“VC Fest isn’t just about networking, it’s about creating real collisions between founders and funders that can change the trajectory of companies and communities,” Novick said.
What’s new this year
Expanded programming: Panels and sessions highlight emerging sectors, from AI to health tech.
Investor engagement: More national VCs are expected to join alongside Ohio-based firms.
Collaboration focus: Dedicated sessions on connecting startups with enterprise customers and public-sector partners.
Startup World Cup: VC Fest will host a regional pitch competition, with the winner advancing to compete for $1 million at the global finals.
The big picture
With Intel, Anduril, and other major projects planting roots in Ohio, the state is positioning itself as a national tech hub. VC Fest reflects that momentum, bringing the people with ideas together with the people who can help them grow.
