Cleveland’s WAN Dynamics acquired by Chicago’s Nitel to deepen capabilities

Cleveland’s WAN Dynamics has been acquired by Chicago-based network-as-a-service provider Nitel, the combined organization boasting deeper technical, management, and support capabilities around its managed SD-WAN offering.

Nitel says the acquisition enhances its capabilities around delivering custom-tailored managed network solutions. In addition, the move represents an opportunity to add complementary capabilities from WAN Dynamics to Nitel, including a deep understanding of customer environments, best practices to improve customer networks, and excellence in managed and professional services.

WAN Dynamics now operates under the Nitel brand.

“We are very excited about this acquisition because WAN Dynamics values what we have made our number one priority - customer success,” said Nitel CEO Margi Shaw. “They also map well to the products we offer and support our vision to leverage digital capabilities to transform enterprise networking. WAN Dynamics brings significant technical talent and capabilities that will enhance our ability to deliver value as our customers scale and their networks increase in complexity.”

WAN Dynamics designs custom network solutions that move at the pace of modern business and scale to meet evolving business needs.

Shaw and WAN Dynamics Chief Technical Officer Jason Gintert have been acquainted for years, and Gintert says the timing was right to join forces this year. Nitel had put in place a growth strategy after PE firm Cinven made an investment.

“We are thrilled to bring significant strengths in network engineering and our unwavering focus on the customer to Nitel,” Gintert said. “As enterprises continue their digital transformation journeys, mastering the ensuing connectivity transformation is where our expertise truly shines. The opportunities for our talented staff, valued customers, and essential partners are very exciting, and we are eager to be a key part of Nitel’s success moving forward.”

Gintert is a co-founder and president of the Ohio Networking User Group, an independent non-profit organization focused on collaboration between network engineers in Ohio.

Years before the Nitel deal, Gintert participated in an OhioX Q&A, which you can read here.
