People on the Move: New leaders at The O.H.I.O. Fund, ATC, and Slalom

Ohio organizations named new leaders across venture capital, health care, wealth management and technology consulting this cycle. Here are 10 moves worth knowing.

Capital and investment

Joshua Borean has joined The O.H.I.O. Fund as general counsel, leaving private practice for the first time in almost 20 years. The fund launched in June 2024 with founding partners Mark Kvamme, Ray Leach, Jill Meyer and Mike Venerable, and puts Ohio capital into Ohio companies, real estate and infrastructure. Borean cited more than $660 million raised and more than 45 closed deals in his announcement.

Amy Brady has been named a managing partner at MAI Capital Management, joining the Cleveland firm's Office of Managing Partners on Sept. 1 and reporting to chairman and chief executive Rick Buoncore. She spent 14 years as chief information officer at KeyBank and 25 years before that in technology and operations leadership at Bank of America, and was named to American Banker's list of the most powerful women in banking every year from 2016 through 2025. At MAI, a registered investment advisor with roughly $80 billion in client assets, she will oversee artificial intelligence (AI) optimization, workflow and cost initiatives and lead the firm's national women and wealth strategy.

Amanda Yoho has moved from president to chief executive officer of Proformex, the Cleveland platform for post-sale life insurance and annuity management. She joined the company as chief technology officer, where she built its insurance data products, and was promoted to president in December 2024. Yoho holds a doctorate in physics from Case Western Reserve University.

Health care and life sciences

Elisabeth Barrett has joined Cincinnati Children's Innovation Ventures as managing director of commercialization and venture building. Innovation Ventures moves discoveries out of the hospital's research enterprise and into the market, and its portfolio includes more than 300 active innovations across the life sciences. Barrett brings close to 25 years of experience in venture creation and scale, commercialization, strategic partnerships and business development, the group noted in announcing the hire.

Scott Peachey has joined CoverMyMeds as senior director of data governance and operations, leaving Huntington National Bank, where he was senior vice president and segment data officer. The Columbus company automates prescription prior authorization for providers, pharmacies and health plans, and has operated as a subsidiary of McKesson since 2017. Peachey was director of data governance at Nationwide and global head of enterprise data governance at Invesco before joining Huntington.

Technology and consulting

Trevor Cobain has joined Advanced Technology Consulting (ATC) as principal consultant. The Liberty Township firm advises clients on voice, network, cloud, cybersecurity and data projects, drawing on a portfolio of more than 400 technology providers. "I've built my career around helping clients succeed," Cobain said in the firm's announcement, describing an approach built on understanding client goals and earning trust.

Chris Mazzocco has been promoted to senior director at Slalom, the Seattle-based consultancy that opened its first Ohio office in Columbus and expanded there in 2020. He credited clients, teammates and firm leadership for the growth of Slalom's Ohio financial services business.

Ashley Baig has started as chief of staff at ForgeNest Inc., a Columbus startup building an AI-driven forging platform for defense, aerospace and industrial customers. The company launched in 2025 as a spinout tied to Ohio State University research. Baig was previously director of marketing and communications at Rev1 Ventures and has worked across marketing, operations and project roles for more than a decade.

Purpose and community

Craig Turner has been named chief executive officer of Agápe Capitalism, the movement founded by Donatos founder Jim Grote around doing business on the principle of unconditional love and pursuing purpose alongside profit. Turner will work alongside Grote, whom he described as his mentor, and will continue as chief operating officer of Agápe Automation and executive director of the Edge Innovation Hub in Gahanna. He said the appointment is a chance to turn "a ripple into a wave."

Stacy Strauss has joined the Athens County Foundation as director of finance and administration. The foundation awards grants, builds endowments and runs leadership programs across Athens County. Previously, Strauss was the longtime Director of the Ohio University Innovation Center.
