Google brings free AI workshop to Columbus small businesses
Google and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce teamed up to offer a free, in-person AI training workshop for small businesses in Central Ohio, marking a new step in preparing local entrepreneurs for success in the AI-driven economy.
The workshop, titled “Make AI Work for You,” was led by Grow with Google Coach Angelina Darrisaw and guided small business owners through practical ways to apply artificial intelligence in daily operations—from automating tasks to enhancing marketing strategies and improving customer engagement.
Why it matters
With 82% of small business leaders already reporting positive outcomes from AI adoption—like cost savings and productivity gains—equipping Ohio businesses with AI skills is becoming essential. The “Make AI Work for You” workshop helped attendees build confidence in applying AI to marketing, operations, and day-to-day decision-making.

More than 310,000 small businesses have been trained through Google's Grow with Google Coaches program since 2017.
Google has invested over $7.2 billion in Ohio since 2019, with three data centers in New Albany, Columbus, and Lancaster.
