Neptune North, a technology consultancy based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, will establish a U.S. technology hub in the Columbus region and create 75 jobs by the end of 2029, One Columbus announced Sept. 28.

The company has not selected a location. Its new team will include software developers, data engineers and other technology professionals supporting Neptune North's growing U.S. client base.

By the numbers

  • 75 jobs to be created in the Columbus region by the end of 2029
  • 200 employees company-wide, two years after its 2024 founding
  • Four countries with Neptune North offices: Britain, the U.S., Spain and Lithuania
  • 18 Fortune 1000 headquarters located in the Columbus Region

Consulting paired with the technical build

Founded in 2024, Neptune North provides data, artificial intelligence (AI), software and consulting services to businesses in finance and other industries. The company is a joint venture between Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm and part of Marsh, and Rokos Capital Management, a global alternative investment fund manager.

The partners created Neptune North to fill a gap in the technology services market by pairing strategic consulting with the technical capability to build and implement solutions. The Columbus operation extends that model further into the U.S. market.

The company operates across financial markets, defense technology and AI, and also has a presence in Australia and New Zealand.

Neptune North's headquarters occupies about 15,000 square feet at Bank House in Newcastle. The firm had recruited more than 100 employees by fall 2025, when it first described plans to open a U.S. office, according to Bank House's owners.

"The Columbus Region gives Neptune North access to the exceptional talent, business community and connectivity we need to serve U.S. clients and build a strong foundation for long-term growth," said James Beard, CEO of Neptune North. "We are assembling a team capable of solving complex technology problems in industries where precision and trust are essential. We see real opportunity to support that work from this growing metro and envisage hiring locally for both experienced and graduate roles, along with attracting talent to the Region from further afield."

Why Columbus

The region's concentration of financial services, insurance and technology employers gives Neptune North access to experienced professionals, potential customers and a network to support its growth.

"Neptune North is placing the Columbus Region at the center of its U.S. growth strategy, and that is a strong signal about the caliber of this market," said Jonas Peterson, chief economic development officer and president of One Columbus. "The company needs sophisticated talent, proximity to clients and a business community built for collaboration. Our region delivers all three, and we are ready to help this team put down roots and scale."

JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef pointed to the state's appeal for international companies.

"Neptune North's decision to establish a new U.S. technology office in Ohio speaks to how the state has become a top destination for overseas investment within the American market," Nauseef said. "As a rapidly emerging innovator, Neptune North will have easy access to the talent, ideas and a diverse client base needed to spark its future growth."
