The University of Toledo Business Incubator hosted another Tech419 Pitch Competition on Thursday, October 29th.

Ossatura Labs won first place, earning $10,000 in project funding.

About Ossatura Labs

Ossatura Labs is bringing engineering precision to orthopaedic trauma care.

Its technology uses medical imaging and physics-based simulation to help surgeons evaluate fracture fixation options based on each patient's unique injury and bone quality, supporting more informed surgical planning.

The Other Finalists

  • Altered Gravity - A kitchen microwave-sized device which lets laboratories study how gravity changes living systems before advancing to space-based testing
  • ILUminate - Live, auditable skill matrix that shows which employees are trained and where coverage gaps exist, helping plants managers make stronger staffing decisions
  • Surgiplate - Single-use surgical fixation platform designed to provide secure stabilization of the hand and other joints, simplifying surgical preparation and giving healthcare providers a solution for multiple clinical applications
  • Echo - Facility maintenance problem reporting, enabling fewer missed problems, clearer communication, and insights into recurring maintenance needs

Finalists also gain access to incubator resources, advisors, and follow-on support.

About Tech419

The Tech419 Pitch Competition, hosted by The University of Toledo Business Incubator, marked the culmination of a structured training program for five tech entrepreneurs.

In a pitch showdown, contestants presented to a panel of judges, with a live audience of fellow entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, students, and community members in attendance.

The judges included experts from venture capital, software engineering, and technology transfer.

Formerly known as “Pitch and Pour,” the annual event has been a cornerstone of the tech entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Toledo region since 2013.

Avani Enterprizes won in 2024 and VisioCell won in 2025.
